Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a customizable cosmetic treatment option that addresses a wide range of dental concerns. Dr. Paul Cavanaugh and his Colorado Springs, CO team are committed to helping patients achieve a beautiful, healthy, and stable smile with porcelain veneers. Dental veneers will also support your long term dental health under the care of our experienced cosmetic dentists.

The dental veneers that we provide our patients with are made of high-quality stain-resistant ceramic that is shaped into an ultra-thin shell to fit over the front and sides of the tooth. Each porcelain veneer is custom made to your unique specifications for a superior result. The materials used will reflect light much like a natural tooth. They are also color-matched to blend seamlessly with your smile.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR PORCELAIN VENEERS?

Most patients are candidates for the placement of porcelain veneers. However, there are several factors to consider when choosing porcelain veneers to achieve your cosmetic dental goals. Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent dental restoration due to the amount of tooth surface removed to accommodate placement. They will also likely cost more than other options such as dental bonding, but they will offer a customized, lasting, and durable result.

RECEIVING PORCELAIN VENEERS

The process of placing porcelain veneers will require several visits to our office.  Your initial visit will include a dental consultation, exam, and digital diagnostics as needed to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. At your second visit, we will prepare the teeth.

This involves removing a small amount of tooth enamel, enough to allow for stable placement of the veneers. Following this, we will take dental impressions and then place temporary veneers to protect the teeth until the final veneers are complete.

During your final visit, we will place the porcelain veneers. We will remove the temporary veneers, clean the tooth surfaces, and make adjustments as needed. Our team ensures optimal fit and appearance before each veneer is permanently secured to the tooth and polished. Veneers can be taken care of like natural teeth. Regular dental care is also an important part of maintaining your dental health as well as your veneers.
